I want to offer some encouragement to those who teach....

At some point in teaching if you haven't already encountered this, you will have parents or guardians talk accusatory toward you and blame you for their child's lack of interest in Church or not being able to answer their questions about the lesson.

We are competing with a high tech world in which kids are used to constant action and entertainment. Secular Schools are not constant fun and action, yet the lessons are trying to instill in them what they need to know to make it in life.  We, as the Church,  are trying to instill the lessons in them to help them grow spiritually.

Yet some kids will shrivel and fall away as the devil uses entertainment and worldly things to pull at their soul.  It's heartbreaking.  My heart has been grieved all day as I've prayed for the ones I see this happening with. I've done the best I can but it all comes down to the soil of their heart.

If they and their family are not helping to cultivate the soil of their heart through daily prayer and Bible reading, our lessons will not help much.  It is comparable to having a junk food diet (ingesting worldly things) all week long then eating a few veggies (Bible lesson) each week.  A child/person can not survive on that physically or spiritually.

Do what you can with what you have to the best of your ability but don't take on the blame when those kids fall away.  We can only do what we can do in the very short time we have with them each week.  It's incomparable and not enough compared to the time spent seeking worldly pleasures of movies, games, etc. But we pray that the seeds planted will not return void. 💔🙏
