They Think We're Strange

They Think We're Strange

[3]For the time past of our life

may suffice us

to have wrought the will of the Gentiles,

(Meaning: past life of living ungodly)

when we walked in:

LASCIVIOUSNESS, (meaning: filled with or showing sexual desire: lewd, lustful)

LUSTS, (very strong sexual desire)

EXCESS OF WINE, (drunkenness)

REVELLINGS, (Carousel, letting loose)

BANQUETINGS, (assembling together for the purpose of drinking)

and ABOMINABLE IDOLATRIES: (that which is exceptionally loathsome, sinful, wicked, or vile)

[4]Wherein THEY THINK IT STRANGE

that ye run not with them

to the same excess of RIOT, (unsavedness)

SPEAKING EVIL OF YOU:

1 Peter 4:3-4

The more like Jesus you become,

The less like the world you'll be.

The more you strive to be like Jesus  - the more you strive to be holy and godly - the more the world and even family or friends will think you're strange. and even speak against you.

Live for Jesus anyway.

Live holy and godly and upright anyway.

The life you live reveals whether you're striving to be like Jesus. Or like the world.

What is our life saying to others?
